German Private Forest Owner Invests in Wood Chipper, Doubles Daily Branch Processing Capacity

Client Background & Challenge

Our client is a private forest owner in Bavaria, Germany, managing approximately 80 hectares of mixed woodland. Every year, large volumes of pruned branches and deadwood are generated. Traditional disposal methods involved manual cutting and off-site transport, which was labor-intensive, costly, and no longer compliant with local environmental regulations requiring on-site processing of forestry waste.

Our Solution

We recommended a self-propelled, high-capacity wood chipper powered by a diesel engine and equipped with an adjustable discharge system, ideal for in-forest operations. The machine efficiently processes branches up to 20 cm in diameter, producing mulch that can be reused on-site. We provided German-language manuals, video training, and access to local European after-sales support.

Results & Value

Daily branch processing capacity increased from 3 tons to 9 tons, a 200% improvement

Eliminated the need for off-site transport, saving approximately €3,000 per season

Wood chips were reused for trail surfacing, supporting circular forestry practices and earning the client a local environmental subsidy

The client has since recommended the machine to three neighboring forest owners, creating a regional demonstration effect
