Canadian Woodworking Shop Upgrades to CNC Band Saw, Cuts Lead Time by 30%

Client Background & Challenge

Our client is a custom furniture and log structure workshop in British Columbia, Canada. Their old benchtop band saw suffered from poor cutting accuracy and slow feed rates, making it impossible to meet high-end customer demands for tolerances within ±0.5mm. This led to high rework rates and delivery delays.

Our Solution

We provided a fully automatic CNC band saw with laser alignment, servo-controlled feeding, and precision calibration, capable of handling various wood types with high accuracy. The system included English-language interface, remote debugging, and North American technical support.

Results & Value

Cutting accuracy improved to ±0.2mm, with product pass rates rising from 85% to 98%

Monthly production capacity increased by 40%, and order lead time was reduced from 6 weeks to 4 weeks

The client secured a long-term contract with a local high-end builder, increasing annual revenue by 25%

This success has led to three referrals from other regional woodshops, establishing our brand in the North American small-shop segment
